This blog is not just about finding posh nice places to eat where everything is perfect. It is also about finding Cheap food for an excellent price! We went to Thai Corner the other day and the food was excellent.
Before we get to the incredible food, just a few things to be aware of before visiting. The website portrays a very fancy establishment, it is not. You could turn up in trackies, or a bikini and the waiter wouldn't bat an eyelid. Speaking of the waiter, slightly creepy and very slow and putting down plates, weirdly only the putting down, the actual service was very prompt.
It is a bring your own booze scenario, but they do charge corkage....bit cheeky. £4 a bottle of wine and 50p a bottle of beer. Oh and its Cash only, but there are loads of cash points near by.
Onto the food! Like any Thai cafe it is the food that counts and this did not disappoint! We shared a mixed starter (pictured above) which was some of the best Thai starters I have ever eaten. The Chicken Satay was exceptionally tender, something not too miss! the Spring rolls had tasty fresh vegetables in and what’s not to like about prawns wrapped in pastry!
Main courses, I strayed a bit and went for sweet and sour. I am not always a huge fab because I don’t like very sweet main courses, it was very sweet. The Massuman curry was excellent though, it had a great flavour and lots of sauce!
Overall as a cheap Thai cafe it was one of the great ones. We will be going back!
