You want To make sourdough do you? Well you came to the right place!
We are going to make a liquid sourdough starter which you keep alive by “feeding”. Feeding is simply the process of adding flour and water every so often, to give the natural yeast some food.
Day 1 is super easy! My recipe is from Éric Kayser's book "The Larousse book of bread)" I just make a few small changes as I find they work better. It is simple easy and adds great flavour to your bread.
So all you need is 5 minutes today.
Ingredients:
- 20g of Rye flour (or other flour, preferably wholemeal and not white)
- 25g tap water
- 5g Runny Honey.
Method:
Mix the flour and water together in a small bowl. Then add the honey, cover with a cloth and leave overnight.
Easy.
