London - Beany Green - Coffee

Updated: Jan 24, 2019

The other day I went to Beany Green at Paddington.

On walking in I was reminded of a greenhouse with tropical plants, I spent a fair amount of time musing over whether the plants were real or not and am still undecided, so if you have any insights, please share.

Its a lovely chilled coffee bar where you feel welcome regardless of being there for a coffee or food, none of this only being seated if you are going to eat nonsense. We made our way through the cafe and chose our own seats, water was brought over and orders taken very quickly and simply.

I am a big fan of Australian coffee shops and this was no different. Australians may be louder and use far too many swear words (I have good Australian friends/family don't worry) but they make damn good coffee. The flat white was everything it should be, a simple pattern on the foam demonstrating the perfect consistency of their milk with a great robust and nutty coffee flavour all the way through.

Standardly priced for the centre of London £3.20 for a flat white, and £2.90 for an Americano.

They also do a loyalty card between all their branches which means wherever you are you can collect those free coffee vouchers. Free coffee every 8!

There was lots of great looking food on offer, healthy salads and sandwiches that were well filled but having not eaten there I cannot comment on whether they were worth the £10-£13 price tag, which isn't too bad for lunch. Just on presentation they looked like they very well could be. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options if that's for you.

Good Coffee. Calm Atmosphere. Great looking food.
